What is jGrants and GBizIDPrime?

Some subsidies in Japan now requires an application via jGrants, i.e. no longer accept a paper application via post.

So what is jGrants?
jGrants is a electric application platform by which you could apply many government subsidies.

But, there’s one complicated thing. You also need GBizIDPrime for jGrants, i.e. you have to use GBizIDPrime to logon jGrants system. So your first task for electric application to Japanese government is to acquire an account of GBizIDPrime.

To acquire a GBizIDPrime account, you should prepare smartphone, mobile phone number in Japan, registered seal of the company and its certification (of the seal). There’re three types of GBizID but you should apply GBizIDPrime for jGrants. You also have to post the document required with seal to the GBizID office for the application.
